Lockheed Martin’s F-35 Lightning II is a 5th Generation fighter with three main variants including the F-35C, which as a carrier aircraft has larger wings and horizontal stabilizers than other types as well as folding wing tips. It is also recognizable by its launch bar for catapult launches, the arresting hook, and its landing gear reinforced to withstand punishing carrier take-offs and landings.
